Hi, I'm Beth Singleton and I make lampwork beads!
Lampwork is just a fancy term to describe glass beads. The term was used years ago when artists made their beads over the flames of oil lamps thus the name Lampwork was used. Today, artists use the flame of torches to melt their glass.
I have been making glass beads since 2001 after purchasing a simple bead making kit on line. I was addicted from the start and was fascinated with the craft. I continued to upgrade my equipment and moved my craft from a corner in my garage to a real home studio a few years ago. I now make my beads in a little studio in the woods. I love escaping to my studio to make beads whenever I can.
All of my beads are made from Italian Moretti glass using my minor torch. My beads are annealed in my FuseBox II kiln to ensure strength.
I sold my beads on eBay for years under the user id glassbeadsbybeth. I recently moved to ETSY and just love that format for selling my work. Check out my ETSY store at http://www.bethsingleton.etsy.com.
I have been successful selling my bright bracelet beads on ETSY. I make these beads on large mandrels that leave a big hole. The large hole allows you to slide my beads on necklaces, trollbeads bracelets or Pandora bracelets. You will find that me beads are very detailed. I take pride in my work and want to make beads that really stand out. They are not your basic run of the mill beads!
I live in South Carolina with my husband, teenage son and 3 dogs.
